How to cancel Albert

How to cancel an Albert subscription by deactivating your account at albert.com/deactivate or in the app, what must be at $0 first, and how closing differs.

Checked October 22, 2026

With Albert, you cancel the subscription by deactivating your account, either in a browser at albert.com/deactivate or in the app. Anything included with your subscription, such as Savings and Investing, has to be at $0 first. Deactivating does not clear any advance or loan you owe.

Cancel Albert online

  1. Go to albert.com/deactivate in a web browser.
  2. Choose to deactivate your account (to cancel the subscription) or to close it permanently.

Albert's page names the address but does not list the screens after it.

Cancel Albert in the app

  1. On the home screen, select profile.
  2. Tap the menu icon in the top left.
  3. Tap Payments.
  4. Tap Help center.
  5. Choose "Deactivate or close my accounts."

Before you cancel Albert

  • Deactivating your account cancels your Albert subscription. Your login stays active and you can reactivate the subscription at any time.
  • After deactivating, you keep any Albert features that are not part of the subscription.
  • Before deactivating, any accounts included with the subscription must be at $0. That means withdrawing everything from Albert Savings and Investing and selling any investments.
  • Deactivating does not remove an advance or loan balance. You keep paying it to avoid more fees, and if auto pay is on, Albert keeps making the payments.
  • Permanent closure closes all of your Albert accounts. You can no longer send or receive money, and deposits that keep arriving, including direct deposits, are returned, which can take a few days.
  • To close permanently, Cash must also be at $0 and any advance or loan balances repaid.

After you cancel

Keep the confirmation email or screenshot. Then watch your bank or card for the next billing date: if Albert charges you again after you cancelled, ask Albert for a refund first, and if that fails, dispute the charge with your card. The guide to disputing a charge has the steps and the deadlines.
