An estimate for 2026: the year's income tax spread evenly over your paychecks, using the standard deduction. Your employer uses the IRS withholding tables and your W-4, so a real paycheck can be a little different. Credits (like the child tax credit), other income and local taxes aren't included.
How Arizona taxes a paycheck
Arizona hadn't published its 2026 figures when we checked, so the state part uses its 2025 figures. Federal figures are for 2026.

- The standard deduction is $15,750 for a single filer, $31,500 for a married couple filing jointly and $23,625 for head of household (2025 amounts, the latest Arizona has published).
- Arizona's 2026 withholding form, the A-4, lets an employee pick a withholding rate that includes 2.5%; an employer withholds 2.0% until the employee picks one.
Arizona has a flat income tax of 2.5%. A single filer gets a standard deduction of $15,750. Traditional 401(k) contributions come out of Arizona taxable pay.
