An estimate for 2026: the year's income tax spread evenly over your paychecks, using the standard deduction. Your employer uses the IRS withholding tables and your W-4, so a real paycheck can be a little different. Credits (like the child tax credit), other income and local taxes aren't included.
How Oklahoma taxes a paycheck
- Oklahoma's 2026 withholding tables take the top rate down to 4.5% from 4.75% in 2025. The 2026 tables use rates of 2.5%, 3.5% and 4.5%, and tax nothing on the first $3,750 of a single filer's income after the standard deduction.
- For a single filer that means 2.5% from $3,750 to $4,900 of taxable income, 3.5% to $7,200 and 4.5% above that. Joint filers and heads of household reach the same rates at $7,500, $9,800 and $14,400.
- The standard deduction on the most recent return form is $6,350 for a single filer, $12,700 for joint filers and $9,350 for a head of household, and each person has a $1,000 personal exemption.
- The brackets are read from the Tax Commission's 2026 withholding tables because its 2026 return form has not been published, so the tax on the final return can differ a little.
Oklahoma has 4 tax brackets, from 0% up to 4.5%. A single filer gets a standard deduction of $6,350 and a personal exemption of $1,000. Traditional 401(k) contributions come out of Oklahoma taxable pay.
