How to cancel Amazon Prime
How to end an Amazon Prime membership from Amazon's help pages, who gets a full refund, what happens to Prime Video add-ons, and joining through Google Play.

Cancel Amazon Prime online
- Go to Amazon's Cancel Your Prime Membership page and sign in.
- Follow the prompts to end the membership.
Amazon's help page doesn't spell out each button, so follow what the page shows you.
Cancel Amazon Prime through Customer Service
- Go to the Amazon Customer Service homepage.
- Under Get help with common issues, choose the option for other issues.
- Select the option for needing help with something else.
Amazon points here if you can't cancel on the cancellation page.
Before you cancel Amazon Prime
- Amazon says paid members who haven't used their benefits are eligible for a full refund of the current membership period. Refunds are processed within 3 to 5 business days.
- Prime Video subscriptions you bought through Amazon, like Paramount+, keep going after Prime ends. Cancel those separately.
- If you joined Prime through Google Play on Android, cancel in Google's subscription settings (see /cancel/google-play). If Prime came with another company's service, contact that company.
- Amazon's page used here doesn't say what you keep after you cancel without a refund.
After you cancel
Keep the confirmation email or screenshot. Then watch your bank or card for the next billing date: if Amazon Prime charges you again after you cancelled, ask Amazon Prime for a refund first, and if that fails, dispute the charge with your card.
