OnePay, which you may know as One, posts your direct deposit as soon as it receives it, up to two days early, and up to three days from limited employers. It says deposits are posted Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. OnePay states no hour. Early arrival isn't guaranteed every paycheck.

What OnePay says

These lines are from OnePay's own pages, read on October 27, 2026. Each one links to where it appears.

  • “up to two days early (3 days early from limited employers).” OnePay says it posts a direct deposit as soon as it receives it, based on when it receives the funds from your employer or the other sender. (OnePay Help Center, Direct deposit)
  • “Direct deposits are posted Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.” OnePay adds that it has no insight into where your deposit is in the process until it posts. (OnePay Help Center, Direct deposit)
  • “may not arrive early every paycheck.” OnePay says the timing depends on when the sender initiates the payment. (OnePay Help Center, Direct deposit)

Monday to Friday only

OnePay is one of the few to say which days it posts. Direct deposits are posted Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. So a payday on a weekend or a Federal Reserve holiday cannot post that day. The main guide has the holiday dates through early 2027.

OnePay doesn't say a time of day. It says it posts as soon as it receives the funds, so the hour on a business day follows the sender.

Where your deposit goes first

OnePay's help page lists the order that a direct deposit is applied once it arrives. First it repays any outstanding OnePay Advance balance. Then it reduces any negative checking balance from fee-free overdraft. Then it completes a Pay Autosave transfer, scheduled or recurring transfers, recurring investment buys and recurring crypto buys.

If the deposit isn't enough to cover everything, funds are applied in that order until the deposit is used up, and lower-priority items may not be completed. This is why a paycheck can look smaller in your balance than on your pay stub.

The $500 threshold

OnePay says receiving $500 or more in eligible direct deposits per month unlocks up to $200 in fee-free overdraft protection, mobile check deposit and cash advance. A different OnePay page says cash advance is up to $400 for eligible customers, with limits that vary and aren't guaranteed. These perks are separate from early arrival.

What isn't a direct deposit

OnePay says payments or transfers through person-to-person providers such as Venmo, PayPal, Apple Cash or Cash App are not direct deposits. Neither are cash deposits, mobile check deposits, wire transfers, transfers between OnePay accounts, or transfers funded from the app. Spark Driver earnings and @Work Instapays do count as direct deposits.

How to set up direct deposit with OnePay

  1. In the OnePay app, select Cash Control, then Direct Deposit, then Find Your Employer.
  2. Follow the on-screen steps to pick your employer, where the funds go and how much of each paycheck.
  3. Or give your employer's payroll provider your account and routing numbers, with account type Checking, not Savings.
  4. If a form is required, send the prefilled one from Cash Control, Direct Deposit, then Send form to employer.

Why your OnePay deposit might be late

  • Your employer is still updating your direct deposit information. OnePay says that can take 1-2 full pay cycles.
  • The sender initiated the payment on payday.
  • It is a weekend or federal holiday.
  • The account type was entered as Savings, not Checking.

If your OnePay deposit hasn't arrived

  1. If you haven't received your deposit within 2 business days after your employer sent it, OnePay says to contact your payroll provider directly.
  2. Check that your employer has the right routing number, account number and account type.
  3. If a deposit isn't recognized correctly, contact OnePay Customer Service or type Agent in Chat.

If a bill is due before the money lands, call the biller before the due date. If a fee hits your account because of a late deposit, see how to get overdraft fees refunded. This is general information, not financial advice.

Dates to know

The Federal Reserve is closed on its holidays, and several banks warn that a holiday can delay a deposit. The next ones are Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2026; Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2026; Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, 2026.
