We make Wonderful, and it's on this list. Everything said about the other apps comes from their own pricing and help pages, the app stores and what their users say in public, each linked in the sources. Nobody paid to be listed, and we don't earn anything if you pick one of them.

The short version

Rocket Money is rated 4.5 on both app stores and 3.9 on Trustpilot, and 1.41 on the Better Business Bureau.[16][17][1][4] People like it for finding forgotten subscriptions and for easy tracking, and for helpful support staff. They complain about the bill negotiation fee, cancelling and unexpected charges. It is worth it if you want subscriptions found and cancelled, and less so if you want a full budget or a fixed price.

Ratings in one place

Four public places rate Rocket Money, and they do not agree. Each one asks a different crowd.

  • App Store: 4.5 stars from 403K ratings.[16]
  • Google Play: 4.5 stars from 141K ratings.[17]
  • Trustpilot: 3.9 out of 5 from 4,226 reviews.[1]
  • Better Business Bureau: A+ rating, and a customer review average of 1.41 out of 5 from 66 reviews.[4]

Each site draws its own crowd, so the numbers measure different things. None of them is a survey of all customers, and none should be read as one. For how Rocket Money handles your data, see is Rocket Money safe.

Trustpilot: 3.9, and its own caveat

Rocket Money's Trustpilot page shows a TrustScore of 3.9 from 4,226 reviews. The Truebill reviews were merged into the profile, which Rocket Money claimed in August 2022.[1] The star split is lopsided at both ends: 3,637 five-star, 183 four-star, 49 three-star, 29 two-star and 328 one-star reviews. That is about 86% five-star and 8% one-star.[1]

Trustpilot adds two notes on the page. It says the company "hasn't invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative," and that it doesn't fact-check reviews. It also says Rocket Money replied to 100% of negative reviews, and usually within a week.[1] For scale, other budgeting apps on the same site: YNAB 4.6 (3,138 reviews), NerdWallet 3.4 (3,603), and Monarch 2.0 from 33 reviews.[1]

The BBB: A+ and 1.41

The Better Business Bureau shows Rocket Money Inc with an A+ rating and accreditation since February 26, 2020.[2] Two different things hide in those numbers. The letter reflects the business's record and how it answers complaints. The 1.41 is customer reviews: an average of 66.[4] The BBB also lists 208 complaints in the last 3 years and 35 in the last 12 months.[3] Both sit on the same profile, and 66 reviews is a small group next to 403K app store ratings.

What people praise

Most of Rocket Money's 4,226 Trustpilot reviews are five stars, and the praise comes in three kinds.[1]

A named support person who helped

Support is the top praise: many reviews thank a support person by name.[1]

Easy tracking

Trustpilot review (4 stars)· August 2026
“Very easy to use, makes budgeting and tracking expenses very simple.”

Finding forgotten subscriptions

That is what Rocket Money is built around: the free plan lists your subscriptions and the Premium plan has a team cancel them.[13]

Trustpilot review (5 stars)· July 2026
“Perfect to locate forgotten subscriptions, multiple subscriptions, and ESPECIALLY mysterious/unknown subscriptions”

What people complain about

About 8% of the Trustpilot reviews are one star.[1] These are the themes that come up in them, and in the BBB complaints.

The bill negotiation fee

The most specific complaint. The pattern is that Rocket Money reports it negotiated a lower bill and charges its fee on the year's savings up front, and people say they didn't expect the size of the fee or the savings didn't show up.[1] Rocket Money's own pages say the fee is 35% to 60% of the first year's savings and nothing if nothing is saved.[13][14]

“Negotiated bill and want upfront payment when I didn't even receive or pay for the service.”

Trustpilot review (1 star)· September 2026
“Rocket money sent me an email that they successfully negotiated a better price with Sirius-XM saving $250 per year and will charge me $88 for the service.”

Cancelling

Low reviews about cancelling cover both cancelling other subscriptions through the app (a wrong one cancelled, one that kept charging) and cancelling Rocket Money itself.[1]

Trustpilot review (1 star)· May 2026
“RocketMoney cancelled the wrong subscription.”

Trustpilot review (1 star)· August 2026
“I had to download my transactions. But they didn't let me because I wasn't a premium subscriber.”

Unexpected charges and connections

Low reviews also mention charges people didn't expect and accounts that won't sync or link.[1] Recent App Store reviews say much the same: some picked a lower price and were charged $15, and some say accounts drop or subscriptions go missing.[18]

Trustpilot review (1 star)· March 2026
“My credit union does not allow this procedure due to security concerns.”

Where low reviews use the word "scam", it is almost always about the negotiation fee or a charge.[1] Security worries are mostly about being asked for account logins or about Plaid, not about a breach. We cover that in is Rocket Money safe.

Is Rocket Money worth it?

It is worth it if

  • You have subscriptions you forgot about and want a team to cancel them. That is a Premium feature; on Free you cancel yourself.[13]
  • You want a bill negotiated and would rather share the savings than make the call. Free and Premium pay 35% to 60% of the first year's savings; Premium+ pays no fee.[13][14]
  • You want to try before paying. The free plan tracks subscriptions and upcoming bills, and new Premium members get a 7-day trial, per the help center.[13][14]

It is less likely to be if

  • You want a full budget. The free plan allows two custom category budgets, and goals, net worth and real-time syncing are Premium.[13]
  • You want a fixed price. Premium is a slider (typically $7 to $14 a month per its article), Premium+ is $15 a month.[13][14]
  • You want two people in one plan. Account sharing is a Premium feature, and Rocket Money's pages don't say what a partner sees.[13][15]

Prices and plan details are in the Rocket Money pricing guide. If a budget is the goal, compare it with Rocket Money alternatives, Rocket Money vs Monarch and YNAB vs Rocket Money.

What to watch

  • The negotiation fee. At 35% to 60% of a year's savings, a $300 saving costs $105 to $180 (our arithmetic). Choose the percentage on purpose and read what you agreed to.[13][14]
  • The Premium price. Screenshot the slider before you confirm, then check the first charge.[18]
  • Cancelling. Cancelling Premium takes effect at the end of the billing cycle, and cancelling subscriptions for you doesn't cover ones billed through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku or PayPal. The steps are in our pricing guide; for other tools, see apps that cancel subscriptions.
  • Deleting the account. Cancel Premium, negotiations and goals first; a BBB review from October 19, 2026 describes waiting 3 to 5 business days for goals to close.[4]

Where Wonderful fits

We make Wonderful, so weigh this accordingly. It isn't a swap for what Rocket Money is known for. Wonderful finds recurring charges and subscriptions, lists what's due before your next paycheck and flags a bill that comes in higher than usual, but it doesn't cancel subscriptions or negotiate bills. It is web only, costs $14.99 a month or $99 a year for both partners, has no free plan after a free week and no ratings on the app stores yet. It plans every paycheck and, for two people, keeps a running total of who owes whom. If cancelling is the job, Rocket Money is built for it. If a shared budget is, Wonderful might be.

It is worth it if you want forgotten subscriptions found and cancelled, and you are fine paying for Premium or sharing savings on a negotiated bill. What is the most common complaint about Rocket Money?

The bill negotiation fee. On Trustpilot, people say they didn't expect the size of the fee or the savings didn't show up. Cancelling subscriptions and unexpected charges also come up often.

Does Rocket Money really cancel subscriptions?

On Premium, a team cancels them for you, usually in 2 to 10 days per its cost article. Some reviewers say the wrong one was cancelled or one kept charging. On Free, you cancel yourself. Subscriptions billed through Apple or Google are cancelled there.
