Why people leave Rocket Money
Rocket Money has real strengths: Cancels subscriptions for you on Premium and negotiates bills.[1] It has a free plan: A free plan exists. It links accounts (not in real time), tracks subscriptions but you cancel them yourself, tracks upcoming bills, and shows spending breakdowns.[1] The people who look for something else say this:
- Being charged more than expected. Many October 2026 App Store reviews say they picked a lower price and were charged $15, or could not find where to cancel.[6]
- Cancellation that does not work or is a hassle. Reviewers say the app failed to cancel a subscription or that calling the company is easier.[6]
- The negotiation fee. Reviewers object to "a minimum of 35% of my savings" and to a percentage of savings on top of a subscription.[6]
- Missing subscriptions and dropped accounts. Reviewers say the app does not list all their subscriptions or loses connection to accounts.[6]
“I selected 7 dollars per month and it still charged me for 15”Read it where it was said ↗
“They are not good at cancelling your subscriptions as advertised. it’s more of a hassle than just calling yourself.”Read it where it was said ↗
Its price depends on where you read it. The price is not fixed: the learn article says $7 to $14 a month, the help center gives no numbers, and the App Store lists purchases from $2.99 to $9.99.[1][2][4]
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | A month, paid yearly | What it is |

| Premium[1][2][4] | — | — | — | Pay what you think is fair, "typically $7 to $14 per month, subject to change," per the learn article. The help center says the price varies by platform and gives no numbers. The App Store lists Premium purchases from $2.99 to $9.99 without billing periods. |
| Premium+[1][2][4] | $15 | — | — | A fixed $15 a month plus tax. Adds Rowan, an AI assistant that works through text messages, and no fee on bill negotiation. |

This is the job Rocket Money is best known for. In the pages we read, only Rocket Money says it cancels subscriptions for you: Finds recurring subscriptions in one place. How we compared
- Subscriptions. Whether the app finds them, and whether it cancels them or you do.
- Price and a free plan. Including fees on top, like Rocket Money's share of what a negotiated bill saves.
- Budgeting. Whether you get a full budget, not only a list of charges.
- Trust in the numbers. What reviewers say about missing accounts or wrong categories.
- Where it runs. iPhone, Android, the web.
Every fact comes from each app's own pricing and help pages and its App Store and Google Play listings, read on October 27, 2026. Reviews are from Apple's public App Store feed. Each fact is numbered to its source at the end.

Where Wonderful fits, and where it doesn't
We make Wonderful. It is not a Rocket Money replacement if you want subscriptions cancelled or bills negotiated for you: it does neither. It fits if you mostly want to see recurring charges and what is due next, and want each paycheck planned. It is web only, has no free plan after its first week, and gives no investment advice. For more apps that deal with subscriptions, see subscription manager apps.
Questions people ask
What are the best alternatives to Rocket Money?
It depends on what you use Rocket Money for. For a budget that also lists subscriptions, Monarch, Simplifi, Copilot, PocketGuard and Origin each describe finding them. For a free app, NerdWallet, Honeydue and EveryDollar's manual version cost nothing. For a plan for every paycheck, Wonderful. None of these, in the pages we read, says it cancels subscriptions for you.
What apps are like Rocket Money?
Monarch, Simplifi, Copilot, PocketGuard and Origin track spending and list or find subscriptions. NerdWallet's app finds forgotten subscriptions for free. Rocket Money is the one whose pages say a team cancels them for you, on Premium.
Is there a free alternative to Rocket Money?
Rocket Money has a free plan itself, on mobile only. NerdWallet's app is listed as free, Honeydue is free with an optional tip, and EveryDollar and Goodbudget have free plans where you enter transactions by hand. Monarch, YNAB, Copilot, PocketGuard and Wonderful are paid, with trials of different lengths.
Is there a Rocket Money alternative that cancels subscriptions for you?
Not among the apps we read. Rocket Money's pages say that on Premium a team cancels them for you, usually in 2 to 10 days; on Free you cancel them yourself. The other apps' pages describe finding or listing subscriptions, and Wonderful finds recurring charges but doesn't cancel them.
Is there a Rocket Money alternative without the negotiation fee?
Rocket Money charges Free and Premium members 35% to 60% of the first year's savings on a negotiated bill, and Premium+ members pay no fee. The other apps' pages that we read describe no bill negotiation except PocketGuard's listing, which mentions a built-in service.
How much does Rocket Money cost?
Free is $0 on mobile only. Premium is a pay-what-you-think-is-fair scale, "typically $7 to $14 per month, subject to change," per its learn article, while the App Store lists purchases from $2.99 to $9.99. Premium+ is $15 a month. See our Rocket Money sources below for each.
Why do people leave Rocket Money?
From October 2026 App Store reviews: being charged more than the price they picked, cancellation that failed or was hard, the negotiation fee, and missing subscriptions or dropped accounts.
Is there a Rocket Money alternative for couples?
Rocket Money lists account sharing with a partner as a Premium feature. Honeydue is free and made for two, Monarch and Origin include a partner under one subscription, and Wonderful gives two people one subscription with each choosing what the other sees.
Which alternative is cheapest?
Free: NerdWallet's app, Honeydue, EveryDollar (manual) and Goodbudget (limited). Among paid apps, see the price chart on this page for the cheapest way to pay for a year on each.
