Subscription manager apps in 2026: track and cancel subscriptions

Seven apps that track subscriptions, compared on the two things that differ: whether they find recurring charges in your bank data, and whether they cancel them for you. Plus the free ways.

We make Wonderful, and it's on this list. Everything said about the other apps comes from their own pricing and help pages, the app stores and what their users say in public, each linked in the sources. Nobody paid to be listed, and we don't earn anything if you pick one of them.

The short version

Two jobs get called subscription management: finding the charges that repeat, and cancelling them. Rocket Money is the one on this list whose pages say it cancels for you, on Premium. Monarch, PocketGuard, Simplifi, Copilot and Origin find or list recurring charges inside a budgeting app, and you cancel yourself. Wonderful finds recurring charges and shows what is due next, but doesn't cancel them. Apple and Google Play cancel what they bill, free.

How we compared

A subscription manager is only useful if it does what its name says, so we sorted the apps by what their pages actually claim:

  • Does it find recurring charges on its own? From the bank accounts you connect, or only from what you type in.
  • Does it cancel for you? Or only show the charge and leave the cancelling to you.
  • What it costs. Including the fees that come on top, and whether the price is fixed.
  • What else it does. Most of these are budgeting apps that list subscriptions as one feature.
  • What people say. App Store reviews, especially about cancelling and about being charged after cancelling.

Every fact comes from the app's own pricing and help pages, the app stores and its reviews, read on October 27, 2026, and is numbered to its source at the end. Where an app's pages don't say something, this page says so rather than guessing.

Finding versus cancelling

These are different jobs, and the apps are not equally good at both. Finding a subscription means reading your bank data for a charge that repeats. Every app here that connects to a bank can do some version of it, and each one lists the result a little differently: a list of subscriptions, a list of bills and upcoming payments, or a calendar of what is due next.

Cancelling means contacting the company. Of the seven apps here, only Rocket Money says it does that for you: on Premium, a team cancels for you, usually in 2 to 10 days, and on Free you cancel them yourself.[5] The others find or track subscriptions, and their pages don't say they cancel them. That includes Wonderful.

Even Rocket Money has a limit. Its help page says it is not able to cancel charges billed through PayPal.[4] For anything it can't reach, and for everything on a free plan, the cancelling is yours, and our cancel guides show how for each company.

1. People who want someone else to cancel for them

Rocket Money

Free, or $15/mo· iPhone, Android, Web· App Store 4.5 (403K)[8]· Google Play 4.5 (141K)[9]· Trustpilot 3.9 (4,226)[11]

What it is

An app that finds your subscriptions, can cancel them and negotiate bills for you, and tracks spending and budgets, with a free plan and two paid ones.

Why it's on this list

Rocket Money is the best known subscription app and the one that goes furthest on the cancelling. It finds your recurring subscriptions in one place, and on Premium a team cancels them for you. It also negotiates cable, phone and insurance bills.

Mind the price. The free plan tracks subscriptions and upcoming bills, but you cancel yourself. Premium is a price you pick, typically $7 to $14 a month according to its pricing article, and the App Store lists purchases from $2.99 to $9.99 without billing periods. Bill negotiation takes 35% to 60% of the first year's savings on Free and Premium. Several October 2026 reviewers say they picked a lower price and were charged $15. Full details are on Rocket Money pricing, the steps to leave are in how to cancel Rocket Money, and alternatives are on Rocket Money alternatives.

Ideal for: People who want to find and cancel forgotten subscriptions first and budget second.

What it does

  • Finds recurring subscriptions in one place. On Premium, a team cancels them for you; its cost article says this usually takes 2 to 10 days. On Free you cancel them yourself.[5]
  • Negotiates cable, phone and insurance bills for a success fee of 35% to 60% of the first year's savings.[5][6][7]
  • Tracks upcoming bills, net income and spending, with automatic categories.[5]
  • Custom budgets: two custom category budgets on Free, unlimited custom budgets and categories on Premium.[5]
  • Premium adds transaction rules, splits, notes, tags, manual transactions and CSV export.[5]

Good

  • A free plan exists and covers subscription tracking, bills and basic budgets.[5]
  • Cancels subscriptions for you on Premium and negotiates bills.[5]
  • Large installed base: 403K ratings on the App Store at 4.5 stars and 141K on Google Play at 4.5.[8][9]
  • Premium is a sliding scale you pick yourself, with a 7-day trial.[5][6]

Not so good

  • The price is not fixed: the learn article says $7 to $14 a month, the help center gives no numbers, and the App Store lists purchases from $2.99 to $9.99.[5][6][8]
  • Bill negotiation costs 35% to 60% of the first year's savings for Free and Premium members.[5][6]
  • On Free you cancel subscriptions yourself. Hands-off cancelling is Premium.[5][7]
  • The free plan allows two custom category budgets, so a full budget needs Premium.[5]

Pricing

  • Free[5]FreeMobile only. Tracks subscriptions and upcoming bills, with two custom category budgets.
  • Premium[5][6][8]Pay what you think is fair, "typically $7 to $14 per month, subject to change," per the learn article. The help center says the price varies by platform and gives no numbers. The App Store lists Premium purchases from $2.99 to $9.99 without billing periods.
  • Premium+[5][6][8]$15 a monthA fixed $15 a month plus tax. Adds Rowan, an AI assistant that works through text messages, and no fee on bill negotiation.
  • The help center says new Premium members get a 7-day free trial, then the subscription continues at the price chosen at sign-up. The learn article states no trial.[5][6]
  • A free plan exists. It links accounts (not in real time), tracks subscriptions but you cancel them yourself, tracks upcoming bills, and shows spending breakdowns.[5]

2. People who want recurring charges inside a safe-to-spend budget

PocketGuard

$6.25/mo or $74.99/yr· iPhone, Android, Web· App Store 4.6 (7,681)[16]· Trustpilot 4.4 (24)[18]

What it is

A paid budgeting app for iPhone, Android and web that links bank accounts and shows how much is safe to spend after bills, goals and essentials.

Why it's on this list

PocketGuard finds recurring charges and subscriptions automatically and shows what you can still spend after bills, goals and essentials, so a subscription shows up as a bill before it takes the rest of the month. Its listing also mentions a built-in bill negotiation service.

Its pages describe finding, not cancelling, and no shared login. It has a 7-day trial and no free plan, at $12.99 a month, $74.99 a year or $149.99 once. App Store reviewers in 2025 and 2026 report being charged at the start of the trial and a trial that did not appear in App Store subscription settings.

Ideal for: One person who wants recurring charges found as part of a spend-what-is-left budget, and may want to pay once.

What it does

  • "Leftover": what you can still spend after bills, goals and essentials.[12][16]
  • Budget with zero-based, envelope or category methods, with rollovers for unspent or overspent money.[12][14]
  • Pace: predicts how much you will have left at month's end from your spending habits.[12][16]
  • Finds recurring charges and subscriptions automatically, and the listing mentions a built-in bill negotiation service.[12][16]
  • Transaction rules that match merchant names, keywords, amounts, categories or accounts.[16]

Good

  • A one-time $149.99 lifetime option besides subscriptions.[13]
  • A 7-day free trial.[12][13]
  • Yearly plan is $74.99, about $6.25 a month.[13]
  • Works in the US, Canada and the UK.[12]

Not so good

  • No free plan; the app requires the trial or a paid plan.[13]
  • Monthly billing is $12.99, about double the yearly rate per month.[13]
  • No partner or shared login is described on the pages opened.[12][13][14][15]
  • App Store reviewers in 2025 and 2026 report being charged at the start of the trial, and a trial that does not appear in App Store subscription settings.[17]

Pricing

  • Yearly[13]$6.25 a month · $74.99 a year$6.25 a month, billed as $74.99 per year. The page says this saves $81 a year.
  • Monthly[13]$12.99 a month · $155.88 a year$12.99 a month, or $155.88 a year billed monthly.
  • Lifetime[13]$149.99, a one-time payment.
  • A 7-day free trial on each plan, "Try it free for 7 days".[12][13]

3. People who want subscriptions next to every account

Monarch Money

$14.99/mo or $99.99/yr· iPhone, Android, Web· App Store 4.9 (116K)[20]· Google Play 4.8 (26.1K)[21]· Trustpilot 2.0 (33)[29]

What it is

A paid budgeting and net worth app that pulls every account into one place and lets a partner join under the same subscription.

Why it's on this list

Monarch lists subscriptions, bills and upcoming payments, plus credit card statement balances and minimum payments, inside a full budgeting and net worth app that includes a partner under the same subscription. Its pages don't say it cancels anything. At $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year it is a lot to pay if subscriptions are the only reason. Several 2026 App Store reviewers say they were billed after they cancelled Monarch itself, which is worth knowing before you sign up. See Rocket Money vs Monarch.

Ideal for: People who want recurring charges alongside net worth and every account.

  • Tracks net worth across all connected accounts.[20][22]
  • Sorts transactions automatically and searches across every account in one list.[20][22]
  • Two ways to budget: Flex, which splits spending into fixed, flexible and non-monthly buckets and gives one main number to watch, or Category budgeting.[20][25]

Good

  • A partner joins under the same subscription at no extra cost, with a separate login.[23][24]
  • Two people can fund a shared goal even when their money sits in separate accounts.[24]

  • No free plan after the first week.[19][20]
  • Paid monthly it is $14.99, which is $179.88 over twelve months, against $99.99 billed yearly.[19]
  • Forecasting, several income sources and deeper investment tracking sit in the Plus tier. The App Store shows Plus at $199.99 a year; the pricing page lists no Plus price.[19][20]
  • A partner sees all accounts and transactions. The couples page describes no way to keep one account private.[23][24]

Pricing

Simplifi tracks upcoming bills and subscriptions and shows all your subscriptions, next to a spending plan, cash flow, goals and investments. It connects to over 14,000 institutions. Its pages don't say it cancels. 7. Couples who want recurring charges found, and will cancel them themselves

Wonderful

$14.99/mo or $99/yr· Web

What it is

A budgeting app for couples who keep their own money, and for one person: each of you connects your own bank, chooses what the other sees, and every paycheck gets a plan.

Why it's on this list

Wonderful finds recurring charges from the bank you connect and shows what is due next. It does not cancel them. If a charge needs to go, you cancel it with the company, and our cancel guides show how.

So it isn't the first pick if cancelling for you is the point. It earns a place if you want recurring charges found as part of planning your paychecks and splitting the bills you share with a partner, with one subscription for both of you.

Ideal for: Two people who want every recurring charge found, with what is due next, inside a plan for each paycheck.

What it does

  • Every paycheck gets a plan for bills, spending and saving before it lands.[51]
  • Banks connect through Plaid and every charge is sorted into a category.[50][51]
  • Mine, yours and ours: each charge counts for the person or the pair it belongs to.[51]
  • Finds recurring charges and subscriptions, lists what's due before your next paycheck, and flags a bill that comes in higher than usual. It doesn't cancel them for you.[51]
  • Texts you by iMessage when a bill is charged twice, a price goes up or a refund lands, and you can text it questions.[51]
  • Savings goals show the month you'll reach them.[51]
  • Net worth for each of you and for both, from the balances your banks send, with its line over time.[51]
  • Life events like getting married come step by step, with the deadlines.[51]
Wonderful's recurring charges: rent, streaming, power, internet, pilates and phone, each with the day it's due next.
The demo couple's month in Wonderful. Made-up people, real app.
Start freeSee the demo coupleFree for a week. Nothing is charged until it ends.

Good

  • Built for two people who keep their own money, not only for couples who merge it.[51]
  • One price covers both partners.[49]
  • Each person decides what the other sees, per account.[50]
  • Tracks who owes whom, so there's no separate split app.[51]

Not so good

  • No iPhone or Android app yet; it runs in the browser.[51]
  • No free plan after the trial.[49]
  • No investment advice or portfolio analysis; investments count toward net worth as balances.[51]
  • New, so it has no app store ratings yet.[51]

Pricing

  • Monthly[49]$14.99 a monthFor the whole household, both partners
  • Yearly[49]$99 a yearFor the whole household, both partners
  • A free week, plus more days for finishing parts of setup. A card is added to start it and nothing is charged until it ends.[49]
  • No free plan after the trial.[49]

Manual trackers like Bobby

Not every subscription tracker reads your bank. Bobby, an iPhone app from Yummygum, is a free download with in-app purchases listed from $0.99 to $2.99. Its App Store listing describes adding subscriptions from hundreds of presets or creating your own, an overview of upcoming bills and total subscription spending, reminders when a bill is due, categories, iCloud sync and temporarily disabling a subscription. The listing rates it 4.7 from about 8K ratings.[1]

The listing doesn't mention connecting to a bank or cancelling a subscription. It also says iPhone only, though its compatibility section lists more devices. That makes it the opposite trade from Rocket Money: nothing is found for you, but nothing is connected to your accounts and the price is small. It suits someone who only wants a list and a reminder.

The free ways to cancel

Apple

On an iPhone: Settings, tap your name, Subscriptions, tap the subscription, then Cancel Subscription. If there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red, Apple says it is already cancelled, and to cancel at least 24 hours before a trial ends if you don't want it to renew.[2] More: cancelling Apple subscriptions.

Google Play

Open your Google Play subscriptions page, choose the subscription and tap Cancel subscription. Google says you keep access for the period you have paid for and won't be charged again, and that uninstalling the app doesn't cancel it.[3] More: cancelling Google Play subscriptions.

PayPal and your statement

A subscription billed through PayPal is cancelled in PayPal: settings, Payments, then Subscriptions and saved businesses, pick it and choose Cancel.[4] Anything else shows up on your card or bank statement. Scroll back three months, look for the same name and amount, and cancel with the company. If a charge repeats after you cancelled, see charged twice.

Cancel guides for the apps on this page

If you signed up for one of these and want out, the steps and fees for each are in our cancel guides: Rocket Money, PocketGuard, Monarch, Copilot and Simplifi. The full cancel hub covers 92 more, from gyms to streaming.

Decide first whether you want the cancelling done for you. If you do, the list is short. If you only need to see what repeats, any of the budgeting apps does it, and the choice is about everything else.

Choose Rocket Money if you:

  • Want a team to make the cancellation request
  • Are fine paying for Premium, and watching the price you pick
  • Don't mind a fee on bill negotiation

Choose PocketGuard if you:

  • Want recurring charges inside a safe-to-spend number
  • Prefer a one-time $149.99 option
  • Budget on your own

Choose Monarch Money if you:

  • Want subscriptions next to net worth and every account
  • Want a partner included in the price

Choose Quicken Simplifi if you:

  • Want bills, subscriptions and paychecks in one list
  • Will buy direct from Quicken for the guarantee

Choose Copilot Money if you:

  • Use Apple devices
  • Want subscriptions inside a polished budgeting app

Choose Wonderful if you:

  • Want recurring charges found as part of planning paychecks
  • Share bills with a partner
  • Will do the cancelling yourself

Where Wonderful fits, and where it doesn't

We make Wonderful. It finds recurring charges from the bank you connect and shows what is due next, and it doesn't cancel them. If you want a team to cancel for you, use Rocket Money. If you want a free or cheap list, Bobby or your phone's subscription settings do it. Wonderful is a budgeting app for couples who keep their own money: each person connects their own bank, shared costs are split, and every paycheck gets a plan. It has no free plan after a free week and runs in the browser, with no iPhone or Android app yet. See the couples roundup.

Questions people ask

What is the best subscription manager app?

It depends on what you want it to do. Rocket Money is the one on this list whose pages say it cancels subscriptions for you, on Premium. Monarch, PocketGuard, Simplifi, Copilot and Origin find or list recurring charges inside a budgeting app. Bobby, a separate iPhone app, is a manual tracker with reminders.

Is there an app that cancels subscriptions for you?

Rocket Money does, on Premium: you submit a request and its team contacts the company, usually in 2 to 10 days. On its free plan you cancel yourself. It says it can't cancel charges billed through PayPal. The other apps here track subscriptions and don't say on their pages that they cancel them.

Is there a free app to track subscriptions?

Rocket Money has a free plan that tracks subscriptions and upcoming bills, mobile only. Bobby is a free download with in-app purchases from $0.99 to $2.99. Apple's Subscriptions settings and Google Play's Subscriptions page list and cancel what they bill, free. The budgeting apps here (Monarch, Copilot, Simplifi, PocketGuard, Origin, Wonderful) are paid.

How do I find all my subscriptions?

Start with the two stores: on iPhone, Settings, your name, Subscriptions; on Android, the Subscriptions page in your Google account. Then look through a few months of bank and card statements for charges with the same name and amount. An app that reads your bank data does that second step for you.

Does Wonderful cancel subscriptions?

No. Wonderful finds recurring charges from the bank you connect and shows what is due next, but it doesn't cancel them. Our cancel guides show the steps for 92 subscriptions, gyms and apps.

How much does Rocket Money cost?

Rocket Money has a free plan. Premium is a price you choose, typically $7 to $14 a month according to its pricing article, and Premium+ is $15 a month. Bill negotiation costs Free and Premium members 35% to 60% of the first year's savings. See Rocket Money pricing for the full breakdown.

What is a bill organizer app?

An app that lists your bills with their due dates so none are missed. Several here show upcoming bills and subscriptions: Rocket Money tracks upcoming bills, Simplifi tracks upcoming bills and subscriptions, and Monarch lists bills and upcoming payments. Wonderful shows what is due next from the charges it finds.

Can I cancel a subscription billed through PayPal?

Only through PayPal. Rocket Money's help page says it is not able to cancel charges billed through PayPal. In PayPal, open settings, then Payments, then Subscriptions and saved businesses, pick the subscription and choose Cancel.

How do I cancel an Apple or Google Play subscription?

On an iPhone: Settings, tap your name, Subscriptions, pick it and tap Cancel Subscription. On Android, open your Google Play subscriptions page, pick it and tap Cancel subscription. Google says you keep access until the paid period ends and that uninstalling the app doesn't cancel it.

Should I use a subscription app or a budgeting app?

If your goal is to stop paying for things you forgot about, a subscription tool built for that does the job. If you also want to plan your month, a budgeting app that lists recurring charges covers both, but you do the cancelling yourself. Rocket Money sits between the two.
