How to cancel Audible

How to cancel your Audible membership from Audible's help center: desktop and mobile steps, what happens to unused credits, and Apple or Google Play billing.

Checked October 22, 2026

On Audible's site, open Membership details from your account menu, use the cancel link and confirm. Benefits run to the end of your final billing cycle. Unused credits are lost, but books you got stay in your library.

Cancel Audible on a desktop browser

  1. Click your name in the top navigation and choose Membership details.
  2. Click the cancel membership link on that page.
  3. Click Confirm cancellation. You should get an email afterward.

Cancel Audible on mobile web

  1. Open the main menu, tap your name and go to Membership details.
  2. Choose the cancel option and confirm.

Cancel Audible if Apple or Google Play bills you

  1. Cancel in the App Store or Google Play Store.

Audible says these memberships cannot be canceled through the Audible site.

Before you cancel Audible

  • Benefits continue until the end of your final billing cycle. Then you lose unused credits, member benefits and included titles.
  • Credits expire 12 months after they are issued or when you cancel, whichever comes first. Credits from App Store or Google Play memberships don't expire.
  • Titles you bought with credits, cash or a card stay in your library and can be downloaded again. Included catalog titles show a lock and come back if you rejoin.
  • Eligible monthly plans can pause for up to 90 days every 12 months. Annual plans aren't eligible.
  • Audible's articles don't mention a cancellation fee or refunds.
  • Deleting the app does not cancel. If you can't find the cancel option, check that you are on the account with the active membership and try other email addresses. See /cancel/apple-subscriptions and /cancel/google-play for those billers.

After you cancel

Keep the confirmation email or screenshot. Then watch your bank or card for the next billing date: if Audible charges you again after you cancelled, ask Audible for a refund first, and if that fails, dispute the charge with your card. The guide to disputing a charge has the steps and the deadlines.
