How to cancel Netflix
How to cancel your Netflix membership from Netflix's help center: the three clicks, what happens to time you paid for, and what to do if a partner bills you.

Cancel Netflix online
- Go to the Manage your membership page at netflix.com/cancelplan and sign in if asked.
- Select Cancel.
- Select Finish Cancellation.
- Look for a confirmation email at the account's email address.
Netflix says this is the only way to cancel an account billed by Netflix.
Cancel Netflix if a payment partner bills you
- Sign in to your Netflix account page.
- Find the Membership section.
- Follow the link or instructions there. They either walk you through cancelling or tell you to contact your payment partner.
Netflix says to do this when you don't see a cancel option.
Before you cancel Netflix
- Netflix's cancel article does not mention a cancellation fee.
- If you cancel partway through a billing period, you can use Netflix until the account closes automatically at the end of that period.
- If your account is on hold, it closes right away when you cancel.
- If you pay with a gift card or promo balance, you can keep watching for as many months as the balance covers.
- You won't be charged again unless you restart. You can restart any time at netflix.com/YourAccount, and Netflix keeps your viewing activity, recommendations, ratings and account details for 24 months after the account closes.
- Netflix suggests changing your password after you cancel, and signing out of all devices, so no one else can restart the account.

After you cancel
Keep the confirmation email or screenshot. Then watch your bank or card for the next billing date: if Netflix charges you again after you cancelled, ask Netflix for a refund first, and if that fails, dispute the charge with your card. The guide to disputing a charge has the steps and the deadlines.

How do I cancel Netflix?
Go to netflix.com/cancelplan, sign in, select Cancel, then Finish Cancellation. You get a confirmation email.
Does deleting the Netflix app cancel my membership?
No. Netflix says signing out or deleting the app does not cancel. The cancel steps are the only way to end the membership.
Is there a fee to cancel Netflix?
Netflix's cancel article does not mention one.
Can I keep watching after I cancel Netflix?
Yes, until the end of the billing period you already paid for. If your account is on hold, it closes immediately.
I can't find the cancel button. What now?
You are probably billed by a partner. Open your Netflix Account page, find the Membership section and follow the link there.
