Before you cancel Google One
- Payments stop, and your storage and benefits last until the end of the billing cycle. Then you lose extra storage and member benefits, including premium subscriptions such as YouTube Premium.
- Each person keeps 15 GB. If you're over it, Gmail stops sending and receiving, Drive stops syncing and uploading, and Photos stops backing up.
- Google says that in most countries or regions storage plan purchases are non-refundable. For an App Store purchase, request a refund from Apple. See /cancel/apple-subscriptions.
- Pixel Pass includes a 200 GB Google One membership, so you must also cancel the Pixel Pass subscription. You may not get a refund, depending on timing.
- In a family group you can leave the group, ask the manager to cancel the plan, or ask the manager to turn off "Share Google One with your family".
- Metro by T-Mobile sponsored memberships (U.S. only) end immediately when you cancel. For plans from other providers, use their website or customer service.
After you cancel
Keep the confirmation email or screenshot. Then watch your bank or card for the next billing date: if Google One charges you again after you cancelled, ask Google One for a refund first, and if that fails, dispute the charge with your card. The guide to disputing a charge has the steps and the deadlines.
