Checked October 22, 2026

On an iPhone with iOS 18.4 or later, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose iCloud+ and tap Cancel Subscription. The change takes effect after your current billing period ends.

Cancel iCloud+ on an iPhone or iPad (iOS 18.4 and later)

  1. Open Settings and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions, then select iCloud+ under Active.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription. To downgrade instead, tap See All Plans, choose a plan and follow the steps.

On iOS 18 to 18.3: Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Plan, Downgrade Options. On iOS 17 and earlier: Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Account Storage, Downgrade Options.

Cancel iCloud+ on a Mac

  1. Go to System Settings, click Apple Account, then click iCloud.
  2. Click Manage Plan under iCloud+ Features.
  3. On macOS Tahoe 26 or later, click Cancel Subscription. To downgrade, click See All Plans.

On macOS Sonoma to Sequoia, click Downgrade Options, enter your password if asked, click Manage and choose a plan. The free 5 GB plan cancels iCloud+.

Cancel iCloud+ on a Windows PC

  1. Open iCloud for Windows and click Manage, then Change Storage Plan.
  2. Click Downgrade Options and enter your Apple Account password.
  3. Click Manage, choose a plan (the free 5 GB plan cancels), then click Done.

Cancel iCloud+ without an Apple device

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the email or phone number and password you use for your Apple Account.
  2. Click or tap "I'd like to", then select Request a refund.
  3. Choose a reason for the refund or cancellation, then continue.
  4. Select the most recent charge for your iCloud+ subscription, or the iCloud subscription at the top of the list, then submit.

Apple says refund decisions can take 24 to 48 hours.

Before you cancel iCloud+

  • Before you downgrade or cancel, download or remove content that goes over your new storage amount.
  • The change takes effect after your current billing period ends.
  • If your storage is over the new plan's limit, iCloud won't sync or update your information and iCloud backups won't complete. Syncing and backups resume once you add capacity or delete content.
  • On the free plan you lose iCloud+ features such as Hide My Email, Private Relay, Apple Invites and HomeKit Secure Video support.
  • If you also pay for Apple One, you can drop the iCloud+ plan and keep the storage included in Apple One.
  • Partial refunds are available where required by law. If you recently changed your iCloud+ plan, Apple says to contact it within 14 days for a refund. See also /cancel/apple-subscriptions.

After you cancel

Keep the confirmation email or screenshot. Then watch your bank or card for the next billing date: if iCloud+ charges you again after you cancelled, ask iCloud+ for a refund first, and if that fails, dispute the charge with your card. The guide to disputing a charge has the steps and the deadlines.
